 What is a Registered Dietitian?

A Registered Dietitian (R.D.) has earned a degree in nutrition from an accredited university, completed a dietetic internship and passed a national registration examination. Additionally, an R.D. must earn continuing education units to maintain his or her R.D. status. There are no professional standards for the title “nutritionist,” therefore, it is best to seek guidance from a Registered Dietitian.
